Angry Headlamp problem

Ive been having headlight issues with my X type. It first began in November of 08 when my passenger side headlight had gone out and i replaced it with a silver star arctic white that is what Canadian tire had recommended cost me about 30 bux. Then my driver side bulb went out and i replaced it in May with the same brand recommended by part source this time. Now my Driver side bulb went out again and i am furious. I know that i did not touch any part of the bulb leaving hand oils on it and also i wore latex gloves. Now what could be the problem?

jessy, if you are running a bulb that is over 55W, the it is possible you have cooked the connector and it has now opened on you. Some of the 55W halogens tend to run really hot too. I would first try replacing the connector and seeing if that fixes things. After that, let me know and I will help you diagnose this.
