Headlight & Fuse Failures
Hi folks
I have been plagued for a while on my x-type sovereign estate. 2.2D with headlight bulb failure and fuses blowing. Started at about 6 years old and alternately the headlight bulb would fail. Got through about 4 in the space of a year. Often the fuse (7.5) would go at the same time, but sometimes the fuse just went and the bulb was ok. This year, well last 6 months, the left (passenger) side the parking lights, (front and rear on same fuse F46 in Passenger glove box) kept blowing. immediately.
So went to a local auto-electrician after reading stuf on this website. Seems that the wires from the passenger headlight was trapped and chaffing. this was causing the other fuse to fail. don't know why. But its probably all connected. They moved wires and now all seems to be ok. £162. Doooooh. However, its early days. will keep you posted on this issue.
