Hi all, my passenger side headlight was replaced by the dealer when I purchased my car. Since then I had wanted to replace the drivers side. I had tried to resurface it several times with varying degrees of success. It looks good for an original 2007 headlight, but will never match the new one on the passenger side.

I found a driver side headlight assembly on eBay. It said it was for 2007 and up in model years. I replaced it myself using the instructions from this link

When I started the car after replacing the headlight, the car had the headlight leveler warning light on with error codes: U1A38 communication malfunction of left actuator and U1A39 communication malfunction of right actuator.

I thought maybe car's computer needed to be reset after replacing the headlight.

I brought the car to jaguar to do that. However, they said the computer was not communicating with the light. They said: maybe it is the wrong light? Or maybe the module got fried during the replacement? They will continue to look into it. But in the meantime, does anyone have any ideas? Any thoughts? Thanks

 

The Jag technician said he believes the connection on the new light was bad. So the old light is back in now I will have to devise a new plan.
