Headlight Question
The plastic headlight lenses on my X-type are foggy. Rather than spend time sanding them just to have them foggy again in a year, do any X-types get glass lenses? I've owned a few Mercedes-Benz and always upgraded from USA-mandated plastic to the German glass and enjoyed years of fogless, shiny lenses. Can I do that to my Jag (don't tell the D.O.T.) and where could I get a good deal on a pair, does anyone know?
I looked around on places like ebay, and there doesn't seem to be much support.
Just so you know:
2003
X-type
2.5 manual
non-HID
non-washer
Non-self-adjusting

Cali, to the best of my knowledge, all X-Type lenses are a clear acrylic. What I would tell you to try is a good rubbing compound (1500 or 2000 grit) and use that on the headlights. Once you are done, take a little bit of wax like you would use on your paint and put a layer of wax over the headlights. that should give you a long time without having to deal with the headlights.

I agree with Thermo that the easiest way will be sanding it. Turtle wax sells a kit that has the 3 necessary types of sand paper and a sealing compound for about $8. I did this on my 2002 and it turned out looking new. Just like thermo recommended however, I put wax on my headlights about every month to avoid further UV damage to the lenses.
