hey guys,
I need help, I changed the bulbs on my x type 2002 model with led bulbs 106SMD despite they were longer than the usual bulbs hence at the garage they removed the cap from the main headlamps to make them fit despite the light are just lighting 7meter and fog lights are gone too. can someone help

LED bulbs are not yet capable of replacing the dipped beam headlight as they do not project light.

That's probably why the distance is so poor.

I had the same issue when I put LED's in the front fogs of my XJ, looked better but no light

what type of bulbs are advised to replace which can project to apart from the usual yellowish ones I had?

You can get Osram night breakers or there are other makes that give a whiter light output.

Best to shop around and see what are available, look on Ebay as several companies sell better bulbs for less money.

I just replaced a dipped bulb on drivers side (US). Removed the battery and holder, wasn't hard. Took the bulb to Parts store, they didn't have a listing so they used a magnifying glass to match the number on the bulb to a standard mini bulb. works good, looks good.$5.50 for two.
