I have an 2004 Jaguar X type and cannot get the headlights to dim. They stay on bright all the time. Any solution would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've moved your thread from General to X-Type section. You should get a faster response from resident X-Type experts here.

Whilst you're waiting, you could post in New Member Area - Intro a MUST section to introduce yourself and your X-Type to all the members.

rstamey, from the sounds of things, your high beam relay has failed, locking the high beams on. You can remove the fuse for the high beams atleast for the moment to get them off.

If you have some wiring experience and a multimeter, I can step you through troubleshooting your issue and get you down to a specific part that has failed. If you are not wiring savvy, then say so and I will give you some other checks to do that will get us down to a component. Just may involve a little more work on your end since you would be unplugging things.

P.S. Like GGG said, stop by the New Member section and introduce yourself and your kitty. You will find that we are a friendly bunch and we try to keep things lively and entertaining while putting out good information too. We are not your typical car club. We like to hold a slightly higher standard than most. Besides, this will give you a chance to figure out who the movers and shakers are around here. So, grab a cup of Joe, sit back, learn some about your car and enjoy the site.
