It is possible to do, but unless you have somewhat of an electronics/electrical backround I would not recommend trying to tackle. You have to be very comfortable with wiring, pinouts, voltage, etc.

In more detail, the fuse box (right side engine bay) requires the addition of a relay and a fuse (which it is already designed to take) for the front heated screen, so that is not the hard part. From the fuse box you have to run wiring to the connectors on the heated screen (under the screen wiper panel), this wiring must be minimum 10 gauge to handle tocurrent load.

The wiring from thefuse box to the climate control panel is already built into the engine bay and dash harness. Because your vehicle did not come with the heated screen, you only have one button on your climate control panel (for rear heated screen).
You will have to splice the front heated screen control wire into your rear heated screen control wire (right at the connector to the climate control panel) to allow the rear heated screen button to control both the front and the rear.

Another option is to add a seperate switch to control the front heated screen and mount it discretley somewhere. Combining the front and rear into the one button keeps everything clean and most times you will need both anyway.

There must be a reason why the Front screen heating only stays on for a couple of minutes. The rear one stays on much longer. I would caution against connecting both to the same switch.... either the front will get too hot. Ot there may be a problem with the alternator and a long heavy load on it. Both situations will be expensive to fix if something goes wrong.

You are right on that, there is a reason. The front and rear screens are made differently + are different sizes.The rear screen is designed to heat up for a longer period of time because it does not have use of the climate contol system orwiper system and is smaller/stronger/ more resistive to cracking from the increased current/heat than the front.

The front/rear screens are controlled by relays, the push button just activates the relay. By combining the two into one switch, you are justing activating the relays at the same time....no harm in that.

Your alternator will be humming right along, you could turn on everything and up the volume on a custom stereo system and you wouldnt notice it. It's a Denso alternator after all!
