Default Heater only blows cold air

The heater in my 2001 Jaguar X100 XK8 has started to blow cold air. I have had the glove box out and can see the dampers moving and all seem OK. This only started doing this after a recent battery change. Could it be related ? any ideas?

The cooling sysem in the X-Type is a high velocity low volume type. The first thiing to check is the holding tank and make sure it is topped up. Low coolant level is a sympton of no heat. The next possibility is that you have air trapped in the heater core.

So first check on topping it up and if it low bring it up to level and take if for a drive warm it up and circulate the coolant. Then recheck after it has cooled down enough to safely remove the cap on the holding tank. Give that a try and get back to us with the results.

Dead battery shouldn't effect the heater.

Could possibly be a clogged heater core - see attached link below

Quick check, after you make sure that the coolant reservoir is properly filled, is to feel the hoses when the car has warmed up to see if you have a clogged core.
