Help!!!
Hello guys,
I love my jaguar x type 2003, 2.0 v6. Recently I have changed fuel pump about 6 times, the problem with the car is that sometimes whilst driving if I step on the accelerator on the high way the car does move or begin to slow down instead, sometimes the engine will go off and I will have to start it again. I noticed the fuel get very hot also. I hope I can get help from here, I love my car

Six recent pumps, but what do you mean by "recent". Is it in the last 6 months ? Other thing to consider is the fuel itself; are you getting it from a reliable garage ? Please tell us what mileage is on the car, and when was it last serviced ? Finally do you get any fault messages or fault displays when the problem starts ?
2.0l V6 must be petrol.
Pumps have been changed, but what about the fuel filter? If it's blocked, 6 new pumps will not solve the problem. Presumably if there were any warning lights on the dash you would have told us? (Sorry Fraser. Not meaning to cut across your queries!)

Further to Thang's point, it used to be a common failing, though not so much these days, that the crankcase vent hose from the front cam cover to the main air inlet to the throttle body used to split on its underside, out of sight. Check that pipe carefully; it's about 1 inch dia. You might have to remove the plastic engine cover to get at it.
