Help with thumping noise while turning to the left
Looking for advice from some of the experts on here. My sons X has started to make some sort of thumping noise (thump, thump, thump) coming from the front right hand wheel area. It does not do it while tracking straight, and its not as noticable turning to the right, it happens when you turn the car to the left. Im thinking wheel bearing or front right hub? Has anyone had a similar problem? and/or know what this would be?
thanks....
thanks....
I would check for a tire bubble, or maybe a loose wheel. A wheel bearing wouldn't make that noise, unless it has been howling for a long long time, and the hub goes through the wheel bearing. You could also check, if the large nut holding the hub going through the wheel bearing is loose, but they rarely come loose, because of the torque required to install them.....My 2 cents.....Mike
I would check simple first, the inner wheel well plastic can come lose, the tire turning can cause it to jump and make a thump thump sound.
I can't hear it to tell if it is obviously not, but an easy thing to check that has the same symptoms.
Do it happen at all speeds, or only parking speed?
