[blockquote]New user here... currently bought a 03 xtype that was my parents so i knew it was always taken care of.. anyways i put a xenonlink.com 8000k HID kit in it last week, i noticed last night after parking the car (left the car on and got out to check out the new center led bulbs i put in) that there was a little bit of smoke coming out of the headlights, it was more steamy then say dark/black smoke... is this just the ballasts putting of heat while the car is not in motion?? thanks!

[/align]checked it out again tonight... same stuff... i got an oil change yesterday and detail, could this simply be oil burning off the motor if it was spilled a little bit or the detail spray that was used to clean the motor??

Well wouldnt it be logical to pop your hood and look where the steam/ smoke is comign from? If its coming from near the lights then its your HID's and if its coming from the engine bay then its burnt oil? Now you said you had your car detailed, it may just be the water evaporating from having your car washed before the detailing? I know I went to the car wash a couple of weeks ago and when i got out and parket to check the air in my tires I noticed a lot of steam coming out from my mesh grill (same like yours) The engien bay is really hot on cars so when watergoes through your mesh and hits heat it evaporates yada yada yada you get the picture. Try poping your hood tonight.

Also what are you tryign to show in your pic?because I dont see any steam/ smoke.

Probably just trying to show his car in the pic...did your car get wet at all before or after you arrived home? Perhaps a puddle or anything or you just freshly washed her? Whenever I've washed the car and it is warm (the car being warm) you get steam coming off. If you were burning oil you'd notice it especially if it were smoking as it stinks pretty bad. The oil from an oil change would have been burned off as soon as the exaust heated up, at least enough for there not to be any smoke, you may get a burning oil smell for a little while but you wouldn't be getting any more smoke. Welcome btw...

mine does that after oil changes but goes away after about 10 minutes of driving.

You change your own jvegas or no? I had mine changed last at jag dealer and mine didn't smell at all. When I did it myself I used a bag to keep the exhaust covered so when the filter was removed no oil could get on the pipes/headers
