Default Hood unstable/wobbles at speed

While driving down to New Haven on a windy day at speed in time for the Harvard/Yale game, I noticed that the hood looked a little unstable and would wobble at times. Obviously, I pulled over to check it was securely fastened, which it was. The last thing I want is the hood to pop-up on the freeway and possibly detach. Needless to say, the rest of the journey was driven at more conservative speeds.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a way to adjust it?

FYI- I've only owned the car a few months and so don't know the history of it.

When the hood is wobbling is it the front of the hood or the rear. Or is it both. Hood adjustment is handled by a screw on each side at the hing area. You have to peel away the rubber that directs the water at the base of the A pillars. You remove the front hood latch and would normally loosen this screw then tighten to a hand tight. Then lift up or push down to align the hood and then raise and tighten the screw. Reinstall the front hood latch and check for tightness.

You can find the procedure in the tech manual tht you can download from Jagrepair.com. It is in the body section

Mine would occasionally be like that on one side. You had to close it kind of hard to make sure it was not only latched, but locked in place as well. Try giving it a little extra push when you close it. I sold my car before I looked into adjusting it. Probably just needed some lubing of the latch.

I don't think it was the latch. Perhaps the previous owner got into a fender bender and it became misaligned? Anyhow, I took it to the garage today and they adjusted the posts it rests on when closed, closest to the grille. It feels pretty secure now, although I'll reply back if its not after this weekend's trip to Maine.

So far, so good.Seemed to be quite stable today at 85, although not nearly as windy as the last road trip.
