How do I tell which rims are for what
Is it possible that some wheels are right front, right rear etc...
I have two 2005 XType wheels at home and I have no clue how to tell

Oh ... sorry ... I just couldn't help it. Let me see if I can be serious for a moment.
Wheels typically can be mounted at any corner of the car. This versatility allows for tires to be rotated to even out wear between and within a set of tires to get maximum mileage on the set.
Some tires have a tread pattern that requires that they rotate in only one direction (unless you simply HAVE to back up occasionally, then it's okay), thus they are installed on the wheels with two pointed one way and the other two pointed the other way. Those type tires can be rotated front to back (and vice versa) but must stay on the same side of the car.
Others ... please chime in.

I don't believe the X-Type had any special unidirectional tires/wheels. So, since all four should have been the same, you don't need to worry about which corner they're for.
However, if you put unidrectional tires on the wheels, make sure you have them on the correct sides.

pnyklr, the X-Type rims are able to be mounted at any position on the car provided that they have standard radial tires. If you have unidirectional tires mounted on the rims (not the case for you since you have no tires mounted at the moment), then the tires need to remain on the same side of the car and on the side that the specified direction of rotation will occur.
If you do aftermarket tires/rims and then you go with a slightly wider rim for the rim, then you are stuck with the wider rims remaining in the rear of the car and the narrower rims must remain on the front. But, that is beyond the scope of what you are really looking for.

To defend myself I did say I had 2 XType wheels never mentioned tires in the first post
but anyway..
I picked up two XType rims for $100 from a local junkyard as two of mine were damaged (well just the face from improper tire mounting)
and they are in excellent shape I couldnt find any markings on them but on car-part.com some of the listings say RF,RL FR,FL which is what made me question it
