The old hood shocks/supports have lost their power, and I ordered new ones. i just got them and they look like the old ones should just snap off and the new ones snap on. But I don't want to break anything. Is there a secret to get the old ones off?

 

Pull the clip on both ends first then they just come off.

 

The metal clip? How do I pull it off?

Use a screwdriver and push it up.
