This might not be what you are looking for exactly because I have an 02, but I feel your pain.

My jag:
Black with black leather
3.0 sport with 5spd
heated seats
factory nav system

It took me 6 months to find even 1 x type which met this criteria (not the color of course) and as soon as I saw it, I pounced and bought it 2000 miles away sight unseen. It is a very rare car.

I have one! I have a similar story to Disguay in that I took about 6 months to find mine once I knew exactly what I wanted and I fly 500 miles to pick it up and drove it back home. Yes, they ARE hard to find because that was the last year Jaguar offered a manual. I believe they sold a little less than 11,000 Xs in 2005 and I would guess that less than 10% were manuals. Plus, I wanted one with the carbon fiber/alcantara interior and the Aruba wheels. I would guess there might be only a couple hundred or so like that. So, it’s kind of fun knowing you won’t see many like it, not that it does anything to increase the value. Have had mine over 3 ½ years now and it has 106K miles. Has been one of the most reliable cars I have ever owned. Was an absolute steal when I bought it in 2008.

Alfadude, the whole reason I bought my car with a 5spd is because of the incredible reliability like you stated. I always see threads about problems with auto transmissions which is why I was attracted to the manual in the first place. It's cool to know we have the last manual jag

disguay, I have the same car and same story as you. '02 Black on black 3.0 5spd with heated seats and factory nav. But I only bought it 1,800 miles away. Pictures looked good so I flew out to get it and drove it back home over the weekend. That was 7 years and 70,000 miles ago!

Always loved the 2005's however.

Not a Sport, but 2005 Manual here. Got fairly lucky though, car was only 45 minutes away! Love the manual, wouldn't have it any other way (except maybe when I'm stuck in traffic, the old leg gets a nice workout). It was an incredible deal too, I think folks in this area are put off by the stick...dealer said they had it for a while and attributed the stick as the reason. He was very up front and mentioned the clutch several times when I first called on it. Funny.

2004 3.0 Sport Manual. As far as I know - 2004-05 are the same.

Was looking for a Volvo S60R Manual actually and had never though about a Jag (but I always liked the way the XJ X358 and the X-type look).

And one day browsing Craigslist, I saw an ad on craigslist. The car looked pretty neat. So I went to take a look. The previous owner is a British guy who took a very good care of the car (Mark, if you read this - hi ).
So, I bought it. Was almost a year and 20k+ miles ago.

It does seem like there are fewer issues on here with the manual cars, but then again there are less of them. I have always had manuals in my cars. I drove a 3.0 liter auto and the manual definitely is sportier.

I've once. At a dealership. Almost the same X expect the body color. I was told that they don't see to much manual X's around.

I don't think I'd like mine as much if it was auto. OK, I know I wouldn't.

LOL, well there were maybe 3 or 4 like it for sale in the whole country back then. My local dealer told me they've never seen any other 3.0 5pd Sports with Navigation besides mine. They are indeed rare!

Cat fan, does yours have heated seats as well? I know that was sort of a rare option as well. Mine have actually just stopped working about a week ago and I hope it's due to a fuse

Yes, I have the heated seats and so far they work fine. I believe they are part of the Weather Package which included those ridiculous headlight washers. I pulled the fuse for those as the covers kept falling off and the fluid got all over the hood.

I still got the original sticker which lists the following options:
Metallic Paint - $550
Manual Transmission - N/C
X1 Premium - $2,500
X3 Weather Sport - $600
Xenon Headlamps w/Auto LVL - $675
Navigation System - $2,200 !!
Premium Sound w/ CD Changer - $1,200

I can see why some of these options were so rare!

damn! My car is worth almost what i payed $5700 in the options that it has!

where did you find the covers for the headlight washers? One of mine fell off and now I have a nice hole in the front of my bumper

I actually had to stop using my whole washer system due to those stupid headlight washers... All of the connections have sprouted leaks and I am not really up to tracking and re-wiring that whole system until I really need it!

Hello,

I have an 2002 X-type Sport w/ 3.0L and 5spd.

Ext is Phoenix Red
Int is Charcoal Leather with heated Sport seats.

It has the Premium and Weather package as well. No Nav or Premium audio though.

It has been a great car! I bought it in 2009 used around 75 miles away. I definitely did not want an automatic trans due to the horror stories I had read about.

I have always drove a manual trans so I prefer them anyway.
The cat has 135k on it now.

Count me in! I got mine last December and I love it. I live in snow country and was looking for an AWD sedan with a manual transmission and didn't even know Jaguar made these. I was looking at Audis and Subarus and needless to say, I bought it as soon as I found it!

This is exactly what happened with me! I was looking at subaru foresters and then just decided to do a search on craigslist for "awd manual" and discovered that jaguar made this car awd! I was astounded at how cheap it was! And now, after owning it for about a year, it is one of the most reliable cars I have ever owned! I say reliable because it always starts, but it has its quirks.
