Smile 150K + miles on my 2003 x-type

I've got a 2003 X-type 2.5 gasoline.
Just turned over 150K miles on it.
Nothing major to deal with yet. I replaced the radiator, upper water rail (hoses ), thermostat, and belts at approximately 100K.
Just replaced a water pump last week.
My goal is to shoot for 300k+ on this car.

A good plan to renew the transmission fluid and transfer case oils too soon...

Smile How many miles on your x-type

I bought my '03 in 2006 with about 43,000 miles. It now has 140,000 and beginning to have electronic issues.

2005 I just picked up is at 67K.

Looks like the 2002's birth certificate is about to be cancelled at 158K, due to rust...although it runs so well, I might just store it and fix it later!

Not in miles, sorry, but it's at 139 148 km as of today. I bought it at near 120 000 almost two years ago.

I didn't have any electronic or motor issues but I had quite some expenses on suspension and drive components (bushes, arms, hub and wheel bearing).
However it's still a pleasure to drive, especially on long trips.

Default Engine light and ABS light on

Hi Everyone,

Just had the manifold gaskets replaced and in the last two years spent quite a bit on the same engine light on issue. So far, spark plugs were replaced about 20,000 miles ago, hose clamps replaced, fuel injectors cleaned. So far, the light is out. But the brakes and bearings constantly need replacing. The transmission seal was replaced at about 75,000 miles. It's cost more than 4,000 dollars in the last two years. It has 141,000 miles on it now and the mechanic said the ABS module will be 3,000 dollars to replace. I still love the car but I think maybe it's time to say goodbye.

You can send the ABS module to Xemodex for repair for $269. It's plug and play (no programming needed) and it comes with a lifetime warranty.

I just rolled 99k in mine and it's making me sad. I know 100k is right around the corner now...
I have the intermittent ABS failure - not sure if it's the sensor or the driveshaft yet. Passenger rear window is busted, won't go up all the way. I think my windshield wiper fluid froze and broke the reservoir so now the squirters don't work. I have a blown fog light bulb and I ordered the wrong bulbs (I can't work on my car at the condo complex and I don't have anywhere I can rent shop space from so I relied on Sylvania.com, amazon and jagbits.com for my info). My center console doesn't turn on until the car warms up so I have to make sure my heater is turned on high enough I don't freeze in these cold Massachusetts mornings, LOL. All four struts are blown and leaking fluid. I need front upper strut mounts and bump stops all four corners. Hopefully I'll be able to find some space to work on my car soon so I can do plugs and coils this year. I'm working with another forum member to convert my interior over to one without nav and with heated seats. I hate the Akebono pads I put in last year, they are very soft compared to what I like. But all in all I love this car and I would only consider replacing it with a 2017 XE-R Sport in BRG or a Fusion Sport with the twin-turbo V6.

I can't wait to get a wagon and a red manual transmission to go with this one, though. I want a whole fleet.

2001 3.0 Sport, 223k I just put a new egine with 42k miles and a transmissions with 37k in it. Went all out, new starter, clutch, dual mass flywheel, alternator, radiator, battery, a bunch of sensors, spark plugs, drained the whole car new liquid everywhere. I will get 1 million miles out of this car one way or another.
