We picked up our 2004 X-Type Sport with 18k 3 years ago and it has just turned 62k miles. 100% original and in mint nick. It is my wifes daily driver and aside from our STR she loves it.

Currently have 115,000 miles on my 2004 Xtype 3.0
Bought it back in 2007 with 44,000 miles and since then my baby and I have been everywhere including 3 1,700 mile trips. Problems? NONE!
I have so far only done oil changes and here shortly I will be replacing my spark plugs. It still runs great.

02 3.0 5 spd, bought it in 05 with 36k and i'm at 115k now. I've rebuilt the TC once at 50k and then replaced it at 105k, oil pan gasket at 80k, replaced lots of vacume hoses, fried headlight harneses, and now i'm about to replace the alternator as its making clanking noise... Love the car but I fear I will have to sell it as the Transmission and TC on this model scares me and i do not want to invest any more $$$

Got two (2) yes two x-types.

One has 56K miles.
Second has 89K miles.

Best riding cars I've driven in a bit. Have owned Audi, MB, and other "rice rockets", but still when the "jags" are performing, they ride the best.

Default X-Type Stuff

Just I'd throw this out there about repairs for the X-Type:

As for x-types in the US...since I own two (2) STILL, over 7 years here is the replacement lot: (maybe I'll copy this over to the X-Type threads)

1.) Coolant return hose and reserve bottle...multiple times
2.) Lower Oil Pan Casket (big $$$)
3.) Drivers side auto window regulator
4.) Batteries
5.) Auto fuel door apparatus hinges
6.) Drivers side window washer fluid nozzle
7.) Front Lower control arm bushings.....OUCH.
8.) Throttle bodies and IMT values and O rings.

Some of this stuff can be R/R by ones self. Heck even the throttle body R/R is well documented.

Yep on the tranny. I was able to get the tranny R/R under warranty replaced. However the other "type" car with only 56K miles is good to go for now.

Default 2003 X-Type 2.5, 145K Miles

I bought this car in '04 with 10K miles on it and gave to my wife for Mothers Day. We now have 145K miles on it and my wife drives it to work every day. Believe it or not we got 70K miles out of the original front brakes. She babies that car and loves it. Regular maintenence, brakes, tires, a couples hoses and so far so good. We Love it. Cool

Update on our '03. Now at 70000+ no major problems yet, just normal maintenance and upkeep plus replacement of IMT o-rings and cooling fan control module.

2003 X-type 3.0 Sport purchased with around 60K a little over a year ago. Just rolled over to 82K this weekend... ZI think I purchased the car at exactly the point where it needed every general maintenance item. so i've invested some in new tires all around, brakes all around, and various other maintenance items as i like to keep my cars perfect. Thus far (knock on wood) Ive had no major issue with this car and absolutely love it.

2005 Sportwagon is close to 63,000 miles.

It's a daily driver and the primary vacation tripmobile. Very nice on road trips!

2002 2.5L 5 speed manual sport with 98,000 miles and runs perfect. I just changed the plugs that I'm pretty sure were stock.

2005 Diesel Estate, 45000 miles.
Running fine, except EGR and intake manifold needs cleaning...too much smoke under load.

02 x-type 2.5 with 106K. Only things I have had to fix is suspension issues and a few hoses. My window regulator just went out and thats $400, but Im trying to find it cheaper. Got quote $230 from Quality Auto parts. Anyone used them before?

I bought my 02 2.5 automatic, in November of 09. It had 87000 on it then, now it has 100359 and still running great. All except as of yesterday, I went to the dealer to pick up a outside temp sensor and one of the employees backed into the left front bumper and putting a dent in it and crack the under fiberglass cow on the same side. The dealer is paying everything to have it fixed, plus I get a loner. Just my luck when it's running and looking perfect, let you guys know how I make out.
