How much for a 2006 X-Type Wagon

Hi Bill,
I'm no car valuation expert, but I do play one on TV.
I recently purchased an '05 wagon, same color as yours.
The rarity does not help the price, only a handful of motor vehicles produced in the last 40 years have had value boosted by low production numbers - and they were truly specialty models. Everything else falls victim to normal depreciation. In some ways the low volume hurts the value since fewer folks have seen the car around to build up a desire of having one of their own. Also, the parts availability will scare off a few buyers too.
Having said that, and based on your description while making a few assumptions on options installed.....I would say $6,000-$7,000 private party and about $5,300 as a trade. The new transfer case in all probability does not raise the value one cent. Us owners can see the value, but the typical buyer will not. Instead they may say "hmm, what other big ticket item will go next?"
My assumptions include little to no rust, not a Sandy flood car, no odd smells inside, service records available, clean interior (no dog hair or kid evidence) and very few of the electronic features being inoperative.
Hope this helps,
Tom
