Daysleeper, if your car is like mine, reach down by the headlight switch and you should see 3 buttons under the switch. One is labeled "A/B" (left side), another is labeled "RESET" (middle) and then one labeled "KM/M" (right side). Press the KM/M button and things should convert over for you.

Hello Thermo,
Thanks for your prompt reply. Your car should be the same as mine except for the fact that as i am noticing, there are futures missing. Mine doesn't have the option you mentioned. I found and downloaded the X-Type owners Handbook and went through, i did find your proposed solution but unfortunately i don't have the option of the 3 buttons under the switch.
I will welcome any further input on this.
Thanks to all.

Default Miles to Klm

Daysleeper

Hi

If you have the two small screens on the Facia does the Top one not have a oblong switch on the right hand side to change from miles to klm.I hope I'm right in suggesting this.

Regards

Tom

Hello Trooper,
Thanks for giving a look at this issue.
Unfortunately, there is no such option as you mentioned. I have in vain been searching the net for it as well. Is it possible that this is something that can only be done by connecting with a computer?
I will thank any further input guys.
I will have new pics of my interior and dashboard tomorrow for you folks.
Thanks in advance for looking at my postings.

Default How to upgrade my 2006 X-Type 2.2 D Sport

Hey folks,
I hope i'm not breaking rules by having a new post. I appreciate your understanding.
Having newly purchased my car which by the way need a few repairs such as completely renewing suspension both front and back and perhaps a motor overhaul if need be due to high mileage.
I was aware of the repairs needed but felt the car is worth it.
Now to my query or request i should say.
I will welcome any tips from experienced Jag owner on how to improve both condition and looks of my Jag. What can i do to improve? What not original parts can i fit to mine and such? I have been told i could have the touchscreen dash fitted to mine. Is this correct?
I thank you all in advance.

Default How to switch from miles to kilometers

Hey folks,
I think i have resolved the issue.
The part model i have in my Jag is:

HEADLIGHT SWITCH BLACK STANDARD MODELS Jaguar X-Type 2001-2010 (Part #11654-BF)

I have had some look on eBay and found a fitting model:

HEADLIGHT SWITCH BLACK (WITH ODOMETER) Jaguar X-Type 2001-2010 (Part 11654-AG) for £25 + post and package which i have now ordered.

I will wait for this part and try it on.
Wish me luck guys.
Thanks to you all on this matter.

Default How to switch from Miles to Kilometers

Hello folks,
Here i am back with the same request for assistance as previous.
I got my package back today with the ordered part and mounted it but unfortunately it's not working.
Can anyone please assist me with this issue?
Being some kind of a frenchy, i'm more used to have kilometers showing than miles and it's a wee bit confusing for me. I will relly like to have the car showing Km instead of miles.
I welcome in help with this.
In advance, Thanks

Daysleeper, I know this might not be the answer that you are searching for, but this may be a trip to the dealership to have them connect up their computer. From there, they can get in and trigger the computer to switch over to KM for you. Granted, it may take nothing more than finding a friendly service manager, asking him/her the question of how to switch the units of the ODO and see what they say. They may do it for free (possible) or know by pressing a certain sequence of buttons, it will convert things for you.

Since your profile indicates that you live in Ireland- why would you want the speedo to indicate in km/hr?
