Default How to Tighten Loose Center Cap

Any suggestion for loose center caps on my rims? I have one that just fell out, and another that is about to fall out...

The caps on my front rims seem really snug, but my rear caps both seem really loose?!?!

I was thinking about using a thin piece of masking tape / painter's tape to make the outside edge thicker - in essence making the fit tighter...

Anything else that might work? Im buying new ones, and at $23 each, I dont want this to be a recurring cost...

Mayor, you have in your arsenal about the only options that I can think of. But, instead of using masking tape, look for something like electrical tape. It will handle the abuse of being inside the rim a lot better and will not break down as quick as say masking tape. I did the electrical tape trick on a set of rims for my truck. 7 years later, they are still holding tight, even after a few removals for new tires.

The center caps on the factory rims are held on by four tabs on the back of the cap. Two of mine came loose when a tab broke off of each, so then there were only three tabs holding them on.

I fixed it by running a thin bead of clear silicone adhesive around the inner edge of the cap and pressing them back into place on the wheel.

I had a tab that was broken but not all the way so it was hanging on. I used super glue and it has been working fine, even through two tire rotations.
