I've been trying for years to teach my wife how to drive stick, but the only stick she likes is not found in cars!

I'm just talking bull too, because she'll drive the 240, but man will she drive like an old lady, and she stalls all the time!

You gotta push her! Make her rev it a bit...I've found that if you have positive remarks to their driving the car they do better and feel better about themselves...

Man, I've tried it all! From positive reinforcement to down right putting her down...well not really bad anyways. Nothing seems to work except that we'll try another day. Oh well, haven't tried in like 3 months, maybe tonight we'll go out for a drive in the nissan? Or maybe not.

How hard is it to drive you nissan? My escape you can basically let the clutch out slow and go without gasing it. I even tought my mom whom my aunt tried for 2 months to teach her how to drive a ford ranger with a manual...my mom can now drive stick although she stays clear on purpose!

Well, what my girl can't really get down packed is the braking because the brakes on the nissan are so sensitive. Also, my acceleration is too much for her.

I love having my escape in stick it makes it sooo much more fun! My mother in law has a neon with auto and the same size motor and I found that her moms neon has 150 hp and my escape has 130...so anyways last sunday we drove it to her parents house because they left it at our house. My wife pulls up I was like here I want to see how much faster the escape is...we both go i short shifted 1st gear and shifted around 4k rpms when the red line is 6.5 and when you take it all the way its alot faster...I also didn't spin my tires....so I just tried to see how really slow it is and I let her get a ways in front and by second gear and 3k I was already past her...I was about 100-150 feet infront of her and in 5th gear at 2k rpms and she still had the car floored! It was hilarious how slow that little car could be when it has more power, is smaller and weighs less!

The problem with an automatic is that the transfer case automatically robs at least 10 hp, then the added weight of the automatic, and the fact that auto's are made to shift less aggresively and they hold back acceleration.

Yeah I know that about the neon but the neon weighs less than my escape...plus it has 20hp over the top...the car is amazingly freaking weak...Even with a stick that engine is not peppy at all and they are both dhc's too...I don't get it I think it has to do with being a sucky chrysler product myself!
