Where is the hissing coming from? If it is from the rear passenger side behind the wheel and when the car is turned off, then this is normal pressure equalization of the A/C - as I understand from the dealerships.

I found it was that line from intake to the **** I dont know whats it called.

It has like a ball in the middle and the ball had burn-in holes.

What is this called so I can buy it today and replace it?

That is the break booster vacuum line and the ball in the middle is a check valve. You need to get a new booster line. There are pictures of it here somewhere but I could not find them. Very common item to get a leak from.

Is this what you are talking about? If so, it is the break booster line.

YES! thats it. How much is that anyway?

Another question, do I just yank that out or is there a special way of getting it out?

Okay so it is the Break Booster Line because My breaks are WWEEAAKKK.

Anyway, I went to Autozone they do not have the part and said that comes from a dealer. I went to Advanced Auto Parts the guy tells me that costs $12,000.00 I'm not a full blown mechanic but there is no way that can cost that much. Plus they didn't have the part..... I mean (WTF)?

What do I do? Where do I get this part? What can I do with the car till I get the part?

You are looking at $42.79 from Jaguar. Very common for these to fail. I don't stock one but can get it quickly.

thanks for the info ken, I just finally talked to somebody intelligent and the part is basically what u said. Here its $50 which is no big deal and I'm kinda glad its cheap.

I cant drive my car over there and I won't allow them to install this. I'm getting my friend to take me and get the part.

One final question I have.

I took one end off, but I cant seem to understand how to take of the END thats in the MANIFOLD. I dont want to break it and i'm not sure how to do it since i've never done it before. Any pointers?

Matt, as I'm sure you've spent a day going all over places looking for parts and calling all over the place. You won't believe how many people are just plain stupid.

I looked at the guy like WOW I can buy a whole car for that. Can't believe some of these people that work at these places.

As long as it fits it will be fine. Is it the whole line with the check valve in the middle or just the check valve that PEP Boy has?

Default How to remove

To remove the end from the intake manifold, push DOWN on the black ring where it connects to the intake while pulling UP on the line. Should come out easy as pie. Do not force/pry it out otherwise you'll need to source the new retainer.

Hey Ken, while we're talking about this...you know how the updated version has the check valve kinda shrink wrapped? I have "goo" dripping out of mine after only about 5000 miles. Is there another updated version out there??? I got this one last year.

Alright, so I replaced my Brake Booster Line/Valve and the car is working perfect.

Now the dude that sold me the part at the dealer said it would take 10 starts for the check engine light to go off, I can tell you now its been more than 10 starts and it's still on. Is there anyway to clear the code off.....????????
