I've been looking for a nice way to mount my iPod. I finally found this on eBay and it came today. It attaches to the left (LHD) front passenger seat nut. I'm really pleased with the outcome as the X-Type is rather lacking in storage space on the console. See attached picture.

 

Looks good! That might be something to look into instead of just tossing the phone in an empty cup holder
