Default Inertia Switch Keeps Tripping

2002 X-Type 3.0 95k miles. My inertia swith is tripping intermitenly. Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason. Happened 4 times yesterday and none today. Has anyone ever had this problem? Is there a relay for this? Should I just replace the switch or could there be another cause?

Thanks for any help.

Replace it, only impact or bad internal switch latch tripping it. Or you can remove it and splice the wires together, but theyre not expensive

Thanks Brutal. I may splice the wires together, it's only $25 for a new switch but the dealer said 3-4 weeks for delivery due to availability only in the UK.

Ok, just pulled the trim panel off and there are three wires to the switch. Which ones should I splice together?

Thanks,
Pat
