Installing fog light
Hello all,
I need to change a fog light, but I'm not sure what I need to do to install it. I got one from eBay and I should receive it in the next few days.
I do have the JTIS, however I'm a complete noobie when it comes to DIY auto repair. So I have the following questions :
1. Do I have to remove the bumper in order to replace the light? It looks like it but I'm not sure.
2. If I need to remove the bumper (or anything else, for that matter) what tool(s) do I need? Be specific please otherwise I know I will end up being the wrong thing! I will go to someone who has a jack and stands, so you can exclude that from the list of things required.
Thanks in advance :-)

Sevren, you do not need to remove the bumper, but you will need to remove the plastic trim piece running between the bumper and the underside of the car. IT is held in place with T-27 Torx bits. I think there is like 12 bolts holding the trim piece in place. From there, you can jack up the corner of the car to give yourself some room to move around. Once you can access the fog lamp, you will need an 8mm socket to remove 2 screws holding the fog lamp in place. They are located at the 10 and 4 positions as I recall. Not the easiest things to see, but if you look at the new lamp assembly you are getting, you will see where the bolts go. My experience is that you will then need to gently use a flat bladed screw driver to flex the 2 tabs locking the lamp in place and this will give you a bit of room to twist the assembly some. With a slight twist, the assembly will come free. Installing the new one, turn it 45 degrees from where it will finally be, push against the bumper cover and then twist/lock it into place. Re-install the 2 screws and plug the connector back up. After putting the bottom cover back on, all should be good.
Hope this helps.
Hope this helps.
