Default the coolant pours out when car is stared

I saw a small puddel under my car and when i turned it on the coolant was a solid stream hitting the ground. I looked for the leak and traced it back to were the water pump is. I cant tell if it the pump itself, the leak would be coming from the top, is there something above the pump that could be leaking down on it or should I be buying a water pump

Leaper, as a general rule, water pumps don't tend to fail catastrophically like you seem to have. The more likely thing is one of your hoses in the area developed a leak and is spraying over that way. What I would tell you to do is to fill up the coolant system with plain water. Now get a flashlight, open the hood and start the car. Get out and using the flashlight, look in the front corner of the engine and near the water pump to figure out where the water is coming from. Don't forget you might need to remove the cover off of the top of the engine to look under there. But, I would venture to guess that the large hose right behind the headlight is what is your source.

Hopefully you can find your leak. It sounds like it should be something easy to see. As for the fix, may be a 10 minute fix (new hose), may be a few hour fix (new water pump).

I found the leak coming from the middle of the waterpump, in between the pulley and the pump

Leaper, well, if that is where it is coming from, you have a bad bearing/seal on the water pump. Unfortunately, the only fix for this is to replace the water pump. PLEASE!!!!!!!! DO NOT!!!!!! use some of the radiator stop leak "fix it" stuff to make the leak slow down. You do that, you might as well save up a bit more money for many other cooling system component replacements in the near future. I know it isn't what you want to hear, but spend the money and get a new water pump. It will be cheaper in the end.

Autozone has the pump for about $80 with taxes. I had the same type of problem, but not as bad.
