Instrument cluster removal - Help!
Hello everyone! I am new here and I would like to apologize for any future inconvenience (I am not very good at this, I am just guessing).
I've recently bought a 2002 Jaguar X-Type 3.0 V6 AT Executive, Type: CF1.
When I first start the engine, the "Message Center" flashes for a split second and then it doesn't work. What should I do ? Should I remove the instrument cluster and check that LCD Display ? I don't think the display is fried, because it flashes ... I have attached a picture with the instrument cluster.
Thank you.

welcome to the Forums. Lots of great information here. But, we do ask a small favor of you. Please stop by the New Member Section and tell us a little bit about yourself and your car. We pride ourselves in being a better car group and as part of this, we like to get to know one another. This will also give you a chance to meet those that make this place what it is.

as for the cluster removal it is very simple.
carefully pry the wood veneer panel away from the cluster it is held by several clips now be very careful as it has a tenancy to crack by the vents, you may need a small plastic pry tool but I managed with just fingertips.
you will then see 4 screws that hold the cluster in place 2 on top 2 on the bottom I have a feeling you will find some dry solder joints to the message center in your cluster.
