The only way for a hard wire, that I know if, is the ACM. I bit the bullet and got one-haven't looked back. 400 looks pretty good...I've seen 600 recently.

Send a PM to FJT and see if he can help you.

Well i am saying this, i found a seller that is selling a jaguar acm, however he said its compatible for 2004 and up? I have a 2003 jaguar x-type. PLEASE let me know ASAP so i can buy it from him. I always thought the 2004/2003 model was similar? I am willing to do some hardwiring if nessissary to get the ipod capability. However shouldnt it be the same?

Also he specifies the XJ in the advertisement, and says for 04 up. PLEASE some let me know if this is compatible with my model, i will step on this offer like a mad man if it is!!!!!

ALSO if i install it myself, which i plan on, how do i made it go to the cdc mode or whatever? I heard u can do it your self by holding a few butons? If not how much will the dealer charge? Can i do it myself anyway?

AHHHH i will be so happy if this part is compatible...

I've heard that the ACM will work on '02-newer model X-Types. I think the same ACM used for the XJ is used for the X-Type, but I'm not sure. The ACM isn't compatible with '03-earlier model XJs due to the redesign the XJ underwent in '04. The X-Type never underwent any major changes throughout its lifetime (at least not in the United States) so the ACM should be compatible with all model years.

Sorry, can't help with installation, but I'm sure others on this forum have been successful in installing the ACM.

And you still need to get it flashed.

Quick question...I'm assuming getting it "flashed" is referring to activating the CDC button...is this correct? Thanks.

Thanks. More than an hour seems like a long time to get it flashed, but I wouldn't know.

The ACM install takes about an hour. The flash takes about five minutes.

She told me the FLASH would take 1 hour plus and would cost me 122 dollars. if it takes 5 minutes, that is crazy that they would charge me 122 dollars for 5 minutes//

My dealer wouldn't agree to flash my ACM unless they install it. That may hit you the wrong way, but I understand it. If you get from them, they will flash it for you.
