Default Issues with shifter cable

My shifter cable went out on My 2004 Jaguar X-type (5 spd manual transmission), so I replaced it with a new one (part # C2S47848). Now my car will not shift into 5th gear. All of my other gears shift normally. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Has anyone had a similar issue?

Thanks
Ben

There is a step by step procedure in the tech manual for setting and adjusting the shift cable. I would think yours needs the correct adjustment if you had fifth gear before changing the cable.
Follow this link to the "How To" section and at the bottom of the thread you can download the entire shop manual. The procedure is in section 308 along with the picture of the special tool needed.
