Default Shifter cable

My repair shop told me that my shifter cable is stretched and needs to be replaced. I thought this thing is adjustable. BTW, it is an dis-continued part and is NLA.

This guy has a lot full of Jags there for repairs. So, I thought he would know what he was doing.

Did you ever figure how what the issue was? I'm thinking I might have the same issue.

I had to take the car to a mechanic since the transmission went crazy. Turns out that the wiring harness had rubbed through and was grounding in the console.

I had a trans fluid and filter change, along with a replacement pan since mine was crushed. I also had a MIL light coding for low trans temp. While they wre in there I had them install the last remaining temp sensor harness in the US. Which after exhaustive research located at Terry's Jaguar. (thanks terry)

But the shifter cable is stretched to the limit and I still am on a worldwide search for the cable for a XJR. Any help from you guys would be appreciated.

That sucks, I'm sorry to hear that. I wish I could help, but mine is still in the shop too, 12 days now, and I don't know what the issue is yet. I'm glad I know the guy really well, we actually went to high school together - so he's not charging me labor for all of these days. I really miss driving my car.
