Default jaguar type 2003 thermostat

My car is overheating and bits not the pumps or the radiator its self we've come to the conclusion its the thermostat i just don't know where the thermostat is in the jag can someone guide me I'm looking for the 3 bolts after the hose goes upwards bit am only finding two is the third bolt under or help me please I'm lost when it comes to jags

erinle8, it is most easily seen from under the car. Look up just behind the radiator (between the fans and the engine block) near the center of the car (maybe just a little to the driver's side for you). You should see a rubber and metal tube working its way up there with a black "football" shaped piece in the middle of this line. That is the thermostat. If you go up another 4", you will see a large plastic tee that the thermostat mounts to. There are 3 bolts on it, 120 degrees from each other. The bolts should be pretty easy to see.
