Hey guys I got a jaguar type x 2003 as my first car I like the car a lot however I'm not sure if the traction control works there's a button in front of the cup holders but when I press it the light doesn't go on nor off. There's no light no nothing. Sorry if this is a stupid question there's so much I need to learn about this car

 

That light only comes on for the security system in my 02. It may come on for traction control in other years, but not on my 02. Do you have the "message center" option on your xtype so you can see your range, mpg, trip, doors that are open etc on an LCD screen that has two lines of text right below the speedo? If so, then clicking the button should indicate that dtc is on or off on this screen. If you don't have this screen, I don't even know if you car would have been fitted with stability control from the factory.

 

I have the fully loaded edition navigation system and all, I see the screen underneath the speedometer that says "Low fluid washer levels" mpg and stuff
but when I click this button no message shows up there

 

I have an 03 X w/ traction control, and when engaged the red light does not come on. Message on speedo reads “DSC system ON or OFF. Effective in the snow. Red light on console flashes w/ security set. Love my car!…yup. Congrats wazrun!

 

Lucky you when nothing shows on the screen I guess is not working
