Default Jaguar Voice

I have a 04 x type 3.0 and I would like to add jaguar voice to my car...is there a cheap and easy way to do this?

Any help or opinions would be appreciated

Thanks

If your car is pre-wired, it's fairly easy to add Voice. You'll need the Voice module that mounts in the trunk, the microphone that mounts in the overhead console and also the fiber optic link lead to connect the Voice module. You may or may not need to have the car reprogrammed to recognize the Voice module after installation.

I have the parts available to do this if you're interested but the parts aren't particularly cheap. I got new Voice, Phone and Bluetooth modules to add to my 2005 but decided to sell the car before I installed them.

Do you currently have CDC, Nav or phone in your car?

How can I tell if it pre-wired? Also, how much are the parts you listed?

Here is the VIN range for prewired cars:

2003 Model Year and up X-TYPEs from VIN D31148 onward, except VIN
range E373149-E46479 due to omission of voice pre-wire.

I have the Voice module, Microphone, Bluetooth module and the Phone module that I was going to install until I decided to sell the car. They are all new. Here are my asking prices:

Voice Module, $575
Microphone, $65
Phone Module, $450
Bluetooth Module, $125

I also have the fiber optic link lead that will connect to all the above as well as the SatNav (Navigation). If you will end up with a different configuration, for example adding only Voice, you will need a different link lead. Each configuration requires a different one. If you already have navigation, you already have the mounting bracket in the trunk. If you have CDC you may also have the mounting bracket but I'm not sure. My car had navigation but no CDC.

Hope that helps!

Here's a question regarding JaguarVoice.

My 2007 X-Type is pre-wired for JaguarVoice (as I'm sure most if not all probably are). It also has the Bluetooth (with mic in headliner next to the console) and navigation system from the factory. In this case, what module(s) would I need to install JaguarVoice?

Thanks!

You'll need just the Voice module and the appropriate fiber optic link lead.

Thanks, deedward!

I'll have to keep that in mind if I decide to add that function.

Just wondering, what do people mostly use Jaguar Voice for, the phone functions?

It seems like a little over-kill to use it to change radio stations or to raise/lower the temperature.

Just say'n...

For me, I would mostly use it for accessing the phone. I have two other vehicles with Sync and like being able to dial out, when I need to, without having to look down at the screen. I don't need any more traffic tickets.

I know...how often do you make a call while driving, right? Not often, but it's there when I need to. Now, that doesn't mean that I'm gonna run out and have the module installed. I was just curious what parts I would need.
