jaguar x type auto transmission problem
Hi all, I'm new here so go easy on me!
I have stumbled upon a 2001 jaguar x type 2.5 awd auto with lpg conversion with just over 50k on the clock, the thing is like this, when you first start the car it drives and reverses no problem then after a minute or 2 it starts slipping and looses all sense of drive switching the car off waiting about 15 - 20 seconds it will work then the problem will come back, it does pop up and say transmission fault now and then accompanied by the check engine light but not always, even when there is no drive, I have changed the transmission fluid twice with no luck, although the first time there was abit of metal shavings on the sump plug.
Any help or advise would be much appreciated.
