It happens to me too recently, I dont know if its the temperature drop to be blamed. I reprogrammed it and it work again. All u need to do is to slot in the key, turn to aux for 3 times and you should hear a chime, then press any buttons on the remote. Usually after the programming, I will crank my engine and then turn off only it would work. If you buy new key, you will still need to program the remote, as for key, jaguar cut it for free, but I reckon will u need to pay to program the key (metal-not remote), if not you will be only able to unlock/lock your doors but not able to start your car, which cost roughly about $50. Hope it helps.

Wow
I gave away $65 to a Jaguar repair shop 2 hrs away (plus cost of fuel and lunch) when I could have done it myself within 1 minute?
Thanks for the info
