My original keyless entry remote died a few days ago; I went to Jaguar to have it replaced and they sold me a generic 4 button Ford remote. They programmed it and it worked fine for two and a half days; on the night of the third day I locked the door with the remote and when I tried to open the door none of the buttons worked. I was locked out and I had to call someone to break into the car since the door lock mechanism has been broken for a while and my only means of entry is with the remote. This morning Jaguar reprogrammed the remote and it's working again for now. I am concerned that the same thing will happen again and that the issue is not with the remote but with the receiver (does anybody know where the receiver is located and has anybody experienced a similar issue?)
