Default Keys

When I purchased my 2005 Jaguar X-Type the dealer gave me three keys: the barrel type with keyless entry remotes.

1.
a. This key works correctly. and keyless remote operates correctly.

2. This key

a. unlocks the door by putting the key into the door locks, and turning..either door
b. rotates in the barrel of the ignition, but doesnt start the car, security warning on dash.
c.the keyless entry remote system,ie, trunk/door lock/door unlock/ headlights is inop

3. This key

b. rotates in the barrel of the ignition, but doenst start the car, security warning on dash.
c.the keyless entry remote system,ie, trunk/door lock/door unlock/ headlights is inop
d.this key has a computer code yellow tag/label a bar code sticker attached to the ring of the remote.

Key 2 and Key3, I thought didnt have a battery, however I opened each and they didhave the correct battery installed, and the battery is okay cause I took one out and it operates the key 1 keyless remote that operates correctly. So its not the battery or batteries in either.

Key 1: behind the electronic board had a four digit marking behind the computer board inside.
Key 2 and Key 3: Has a different code/then key1,however Key 2 and Key 3 have the same 4 digit number behind the computer board inside.

I have an appointment at the dealership on Monday, 06-30-08
Will let you know!

Q1: Can Key 2 and 3 be modified to work on my car?
Q2: Has anyone else had this same problem?
Q3:I have no idea what key is considered Key A. or Key B

Default RE: Keys

They'll have to program all keys to the car. They'll be able to get them all to work.

Thank you, leave it to me to ***-ume they ever worked!!

I know the codes are different on the back of computer board on the inside of the keyless remote pads.
Well the two that dont workare the same and the key that works with remote that works has a differnet code on that computer chip board on the inside.
Many Thanks!
