What’s up guys. I want to order these led foglight bulbs in the picture. Will they work ok ? I don’t want any hyper flash or error on the dash by using them. Any info is greatly appreciated.
NYCJAG, I looked up those lights. Lets first start off with that the lights are NOT DOT approved. What do I mean by this? Simple, a cop has the right to pull you over for simply turning these lights on as they do not meet federal lighting requirements. You want to take that risk, that is up to you. This is strike one.
The second thing I see is that these are rated for 60 watts each. This is more power draw than what the factory fog lights were. Is this going to be enough to cause damage to the wiring? Cannot say for sure. We do know that the headlights have issues at 55 watts, the fog lights use the same guage wiring. Just not as big of a problem as most people do not run their fog lights any time they have the headlights on. So, that is a possible strike 2.
Question for you? How do you feel about people approaching you with their high beams on? Get a little pissed about that? Get irritated? Lets see, standard H1 bulbs are 1500 lumen of light, so, having both sides working, that is 3000 lumen of light facing forward, but angled down slightly. Now, you turn on your high beams, you add another 3000 lumen of light, but this is angled straight ahead. I am not sure about you, but I get pretty pissed when someone comes at me with that kind of light. You look at the rating people have said about the bulbs, all of them say that they give off great light. I am sure they do, they are rated at 6000 lumen (yes, that is correct). So, just having your fog lights on (since they should be aimed straight forward, just low) would be the same as having 2 cars, one stacked one on top of the other, with both their normal and high beams on, coming at you (yes, two cars worth or 12000 lumens of light). Think you are going to be blinded by the light? I call this strike 3. Not only that, but it just made you a target (see the first line). Now that they have you pulled over, what else can they get you for? tint? I think you were driving a little erratic, can you walk this line? Can I look inside your car? You see where I am heading with this.
You live in the middle of BFE and need more light, go for it. Living in the middle of a major metropolitan area, you are begging to be messed with. That is my 2 cents on the topic.
If a Chinese Seller lists bulbs, which supposedly do have 60W, I very much doubt that this is the truth - the wattage will very likely be much lower in reality...
There is another option - this is what I did - across the board on my X-Types and S-Types:
I bought (I think it was on Aliexpress - but there will be other sources) completely new X-Type fog-lights.
This gives you LED bulbs in there anyway, the lights are designed for those - obviously - and there will surely be stone-damage on your old fog-light-lenses, thus, that issue will also be solved. Plus, I went for new fog lights with "angel eyes" (circular additional LED lights along the outer circle acting as DTRL (Daytime running light)).
I reckon that those are definitely worth the money (which was not much (AUD$50 a pair back then).
PS:
Here is my DIY link of how I did it on the S-Type. It's fairly similar on the X-Type - at least you can find in that thread (when you scroll down) a picture, which shows the installed new angel-eye fog lights, to give you an idea, what I am talking about...: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...s-type-264128/

What's up guys. I want to order these led foglight bulbs in the picture and after looking into different options I keep coming back to led fog light bulbs as the best swap for my setup. Will they work ok? I don't want any hyper flash or error on the dash by using them. Any info is greatly appreciated.
They should work fine but whether you get errors depends on your specific vehicle since LEDs draw less current and can fool the computer. Grab a set of load resistors just in case as they are cheap and fix the issue in about ten minutes. Hyper flash is more of a turn signal concern so that should not be an issue for fog lights. Share your year make and model and someone can give you a more specific answer.
I went with new led foglight housings. Cheaper than 1 new halogen bulb that runs super hot and burns out quickly. These are much much better and brighter. Next I’m going to install a 35 watt plug and play HID kit for my low beams 😎
