Default Lights

Hi im new to this site.
Side lights or parking lights wasnt working.
checked F46 F47 fuses, they were good.
Both bulbs had blown, changed them, they work but only work on auto lights and not the first selector on the light switch selector.
the dash doesnt illuminate too on the first selector on the light selector switch but does on the auto lights and main beam.
Thanks to anyone that might be able to shed some light on this, no pun intended.

Efcjeff, let me look a the diagrams, but from the sounds of things, your headlight switch has taken a jolt and it is broken. So, a new headlight switch should fix your problem. But, I will check my diagrams. Just to be sure, what year car do you have?

it was fuse 38 that was at fault, but thank you for your reply.
