disconnected battery to replace power steering pump reconnected battery now the car is in limp mode its a 2004 x type diesel can anybody help please. many thanks

 

THat's a weird one, are you sure nothing got disconnected? Is the CEL on?

Get a code reader and clear everything out of the computer.

 

Pinto, I would be venturing to guess that when you did the power steering pump, you managed to bump a plug and either got it off kilter or managed to disconnect it. After that, tell us what the codes are as that will help us narrow down what the possible problem is and we can take things from there.

drivers side, right above the hood release you'll see the plug under the dash facing down.

 

thanks for all your advise problem now solved,car had to be driven in limp mode for up to 16km for the computor to recdifie itself,which happened at 4km many thanks again
