This is the Loading.KWI file from the 2011 Navigation disc.
If you have Nav and go into the hidden menu and click on the update button you will need this file to recover from the 50-51 error and blank screen.
just burn the file to a blank DVD and insert it in the DVD player in the trunk/boot
Remove your keys from the ignition then start the car. The firmware update will load into the nav screen in about 10-15 mins and the screen will display the Leaper you can then re insert your nav disk.

I decided to post this on its own thread as a lot of people appear to need it.

OMG !! I made a complete idiot of myself. I was looking through the hidden menu in my touch screen and pressed the s/w button and now have a blank black screen and the fan going nuts. The link here to the loading.kwi I have burned to a standard dvd and put it into the dvd reader in car, turned off ignition and turned it back on again but still flashing 50.51. The link is only 7mgb in size which seems a bit small. Can someone please tell me what am doing wrong and give me the proper software for my 2004 x type.

Thanks you to everybody from a **** touchscreen breaker.

This is the correct file you need to restore your screen.
This is just the new firmware that is why it is so small.

did you finalize the disc ?
If its any help I used Roxio creator le10 to burn my data disc and had no trouble.
Please be aware that it can take up to 15 mins for the update to complete.

Hi. Thanks for the reply. I use easy cd 10 and burned the file to both a standard dvd and a dual layered dvd and both times left the ignition on with fan going full bore for about and hour and neither did anything. Not sure if I finalized disc as would need to look for that menu. when I insert the old 2003 maps the disc runs continually for as long as the ignition is left on so I don't think I have damaged any hardware and also from some of the posts I have read pressing the update button can't damage anything other than lose settings and the dreaded black screen pops up. I have ordered an up to date maps and firmware disc and hope this cures it as I have repaired all the other faults and car is now ready for the road. If you know where the finalize section is in roxio then could you please direct me that way.

Many many thanks.

Hi.I just burned the disc again and inserted it into player. Turned ign off then back on. the 50,51 stopped flashing for a few seconds and then went back to flashing again and still the blank screen. Nothing seems to work so I hope this new map and firmware disc sorts it or am screwed. Thanks

Where did you get the updated disc? Mine is still the original from 2004 and working fine but very outdated. I would like to update but hoping not to bend over for 3 or 4 benji's. Thanks

I bought it from a dvd update site in the UK and it worked a treat. I can't seem to get any newer maps than 2011-2012 thought so not sure if that's when the updates stopped.

Hi. I bought it from a website selling satnav updates but what I will say is that I found that the kiwi file needs to be newer than the one that was originally used and also I could only get DVD+ to work so when your burning your kiwi file to dvd try using both + and - disks and remember to finalise them. Don't use dvd rw as they don't seem to work well.

Hello guys hopefully someone can please help me?! My jag today has just shut down the touchscreen with code 50/51. Seems to be a very common problem reading all this! I'm after the software so I can burn to DVD. Not very good with computers but hopefully I can do it.
Could some very kind person email it to me and I'll pop to asdas and get a duel layer disc??? Thanks very much in advance guys X

Hi guys, i had a devil in my **** 1 month ago and i did a s/w update without nothing in my Navigation DVD in the trunk, and the screen is blank now and the EXT 50 51 errors are popping up on the Climate LCD i have a Jag 2002 3.0 V6.

I tried both files Loading.KWI from Jaguar forums one which was:
7.03 Mbs not from this Thread but another
And the other one with.
100 ish Mbs.
Both didn't work i was hearing the DVD spinning in the reader but nothing and left the engine running for about 10 minutes (that applies for both DVD-s)

The procedure i did to put the CD
1) Key on ignition
2) Remove DVD Map
3) Turn off
4) Remove key for 30 seconds
5) Put car in ignition and after that start engine and put the DVD
6) Engine running for more than +5 mins and nothing happening

The last option i have is for a DVD 2011-2012 or keep trying with burnt DVD, can someone link me a 2011-2012 Map Dvd for jag?

Cheers,

Paul - Quick question: are those KWI files unique to year & model? I've got a 2008 XK and purchased a 2012 map DVD. It's asking for a software update, and before I burn down my entire screen I thought I'd check with you first. If they are unique by model, any idea where I can find one (w/o visiting my Jag dealership)? Thanks.
