I bought my 2002 X-Type a few days ago and have many, many repairs to complete, so I hope to be starting with the simple things first.

I am looking for some help on repairing the ash tray cover (hopefully not replacing the entire ash tray). I have attached 3 pictures of the current configuration. It seems that I might only need to find a complete cover or the cover back and attach the back to the front (since my cover is in 2+ pieces now).

The two arms built into the ash tray itself seem to be in good working order. The left (drivers side) arm is tension activated, doing all the work when opening/closing the cover, while the right (passenger side) seems to be simply an idler arm providing support for the right side of the cover.

Since the back of the cover was destroyed, I am not able to determine if a complete cover simply snaps onto the two arms in the arm groves. Could it really be that simple???

If the cover does snap onto the arms, does anyone know where I can get a replacement back or cover for an NED trim code?
