Looking for some help with valve body
Hi everyone,
I had a few shift solenoids go out, so I tore into my transmission and replaced all the solenoids. Now I need help with reinstalling the valve body. Does anyone know, or does anyone have instructions how how to get the manual valve aligned correctly? It's been a while since I played with my last valve body, so I put it in without worrying about the manual valve, now I need to pull it back out and get that valve aligned, but again I need instructions on how to do it. Let me tell everyone that I did follow the instructions in the troubleshooting manual I have for the car. All it said was to install it the way that you take it out, I just want to make sure that's what's suppose to be done.
I was also wondering if anyone had tried to put a shift kit for a Mazda in our cars? They have the same transmission, JF506E, so I was just wondering if a shift kit for them would work??
Any help would be awesome!
Thanks guys,
~Jim

If anyone was wondering this is how you reinstall the valve body on the JF506E Transmission.
1. Set the shifter in the full counter-clockwise position. On Jaguar cars this is either drive or the manual 2nd gear.
2. Make sure, make sure to have the two transmission seals and secure them in place with either Vaseline or a good transmission lube.
3. Secure the manual valve with a clip, and push in all the way, (to where it stops with the clip.)
4. Install the valve body with 4 screws, do not torque.
5. Remove the clip and turn the manual shaft slowly to verify correct hookup.
6. If everything's okay, install the remaining bolts, torque to specifications, install the pan and fill with a good transmission oil.
