Lots of compliments on the Xtype
Lately I have been getting lots of positive comments on my X type.
A couple of weeks ago as I returned to the supermarket car park from shopping I saw a man checking out my car's rear end - I thought he might have been contemplating breaking in until I spoke to him and that dispelled my misgivings.
He commented: "They don't make 'em like that anymore. Nice style - modern cars are just too generic."
Also today as I exited the 7-11 a man coming in commented: "Nice Jag you've got there."
That classic styling is really becoming more and more attractive amongst the plethora of generic car styles.

Yes, people do that here in NSW.
What's the colour of your X-Type?
My wife drives the metallic Jaguar racing green S-Type (2004), and on those very few occasions when she does not get both of the following, her day is not complete...:
1. A compliment for either the S-type itself or for its colour.
2. Finding 5 cents somewhere in town...

I see that you (or a previous owner) added the "missing" leaper (the Jaguar on top of the hood) to the X - the 2009 did not have one coming from the factory.
Yes, I know that colour. I once contemplated buying an old XJ12, and I think it had the same colour. Before I went there, I bought a spray-can in that colour, just so that I could imagine (see) the colour properly. I decided in the end against it, it was too rotten.
And you also got the plastic-chromed exteriour mirror covers.
And: I got those too: the stainless steel B-pillar and "C"-pillar covers (I have them too) - I was that factory already in 2009?
...and nice red break-clippers. - I removed the rust of mine and put heat resistant clear coat on.
...and clear side indicators - I swapped them on mine, too.
Looks like the added for the 2009 those disturbing ORANGE reflectors in the rear and frt. bumper...
My 2004 X luckily did not have them at all. My 2004 S-Type however had them, and I artistically replaced them with functional clear additional side indicators - namely those meant for a 2004 X-Type.
Oh - and yes: You also got the angle eye-chrome-frames for the headlights and the matching chrome-frames in the back - that's also a nice tough - have them for my X and S as well.

I suspect they may have been put on by the previous owner as aftermarket items.
I think the PO (previous owner) went thru a lot of trouble to add everything to the car, which makes it look good.
I was pretty sure that your 2009 X did not come with the leaper, and the AI of my browser seems to think to as well:
Jaguar X-Type (2009 2.1 LE): The 2009 Jaguar X-Type 2.1 LE model sold in Australia did not come standard with the Leaper bonnet mascot. While the Leaper was an optional feature on some Jaguar models, including the X-Type in other markets, Australian-spec 2.1 LE models were typically delivered without it.

...so I asked my browser again, and the reply is copied in below (I do not think that Australia gets the US version, as the steering wheel would be on the wrong side...).
I know that Germany (and the EU for that matter) is madder than Mad Jack McMad, the winner of last year’s Mr Madman competition (source: Black Adder) when it comes to so called safety concerns (note aside: But so is Australia, when it comes to different matters like protecting the brain-dead from themselves). This is why the leaper would be illegal in Germany, just like bullbars, but that would not affect Australia.
I reckon that what every manufacturer does after a car is in production for a few years might explain, why the leaper was not on the last X-Types: Cost saving. Manufacturers throw out everything of a car, which was good, just because it saves a penny.
The Jaguar X-Type 2009 2.1 Sport did not come with a leaper on the bonnet as standard in the UK or European markets.

The Jaguar X-Type 2009 2.1 Sport did not come with a leaper on the bonnet as standard in the UK or European markets.
- The leaper (bonnet mascot) was only factory-fitted on X-Type models delivered to the United States market.
- UK and European-spec X-Types were not equipped with the leaper from the factory, even though they often have a hole in the bonnet (likely for cost-saving manufacturing reasons—producing one bonnet design for both markets).
- If a 2009 X-Type 2.1 Sport has a leaper, it was added after purchase, which raises legal and safety concerns.
Ai slop knows nothing of interest or importance.
feel free to ignore it and move along.
just for fun... i used your "ai" and this is what he/him/her/it/they/them said....
"The Jaguar X-Type (2001–2009) should generally be avoided due to severe, high-cost reliability issues, particularly in early models (2002-2004). Key risks include, automatic transmission failures, transfer case issues (AWD), complex electrical glitches, and rust. While affordable, repairs often exceed the car's value. "

I am not going to discuss this matter with you, "iownme", as I know from experience now, that you just LOVE to attack me for no reason whatsoever...
So whatever wisdom you will add here henceforth, I will not reply to you anymore.
I know that I am never being let down, when I need a quick answer.
Obviously, it would be better, if we would not have AI at all, the its power hunger is going to destroy the planet, but it's not on me to go back in time and un-invent it...

Hey, I'm not a moderator here .... Its on ... fight, fight, fight !!!!
I've never really been concerned what anyone thinks of what I drive, certainly I've always owned cars everyone considers "unreliable". I always ignore what is returned by an AI crap. Given there age of the cars we look at, anything that can be considered unreliable when new, is well known, and generally well sorted. If you can work on the car yourself (this is the BIG thing, you just cannot afford to pay someone to work on cars unless you are very wealthy) you can run just about anything.
For example, for many years I've ran a Citroen CX2500 GTi Turbo and Citroen XM turbo diesel as daily driver/family cars in Australia where they were never even sold new. Sure I had to work on them, quite often really.... but they were remarkably reliable. I bet AI says very different

now for my ATTACK.....
you might ask your precious ai to do a simple spell check before you press the "post" button.
i have seen you accuse others of attacking you also.
i would applaud you not responding to any of my comments or posts, although i will continue to inject fun and frivolity into my posts... its what i do
we'll have tea though when i come to visit you.
dear ai, is peter from australia insane?
Based on the search results, there are a few different people named Peter in Australia who have been associated with, or described as, "insane" or "mad" in various contexts:
there we have it, ai actually is always right and im converted into a hypnotized lover of a computer program👍

I'm quite enjoying the moderation on this forum, I can be more myself (If you haven't noticed I tend to stir the pot a bit
). The land rover forum for example, the moderators are endlessly at you, if you tend to be your, er, "blunt" self.
Do you guys have ignore lists here? I've found its best to add members to your ignore list if they tend to get under your skin.
