Hey guys I have an 02 Jaguar x-type 2.5. I went to start it today it made a loud screetching sound and the engine would not turn over. I tried to start it 3 times and it finally started. Does that sound like the starter going out to you guys? I always appreciate the help from this forum!

 

Sounds like it. Before replacing,try removing the starter and give it a good fetling with brake or carb cleaner. Paying close attention to the shaft and gear. Give the solvent time to evaporate before fitting.
