Default low beam light socket

The plug that the low beam light plugs into has melted and now shorts out the connection. I am going to cut out the broken end and re-attach a new socket. However, no one in my area can source this part. Can someone please direct me a good parts supply that may provide me with this plug.
thanks in advance.

JagXster, I know this is going to sound silly, but first, ask the auto parts place if they have the socket for a 03 Lincoln LS 3.0L car. Same socket. After that, ask them about other cars that use the H1 bulb. All these cars will use the same socket. Just because it doesn't say Jaguar on it doesn't mean it won't fit. The H1 bulb in say a Ford F-150 is the same bulb that you would buy for your Jag. They both use the same socket.

Thank you Thermo, The auto parts store said that a Mazda 6 is also the same. He didn't sell the socket separately though. I went to the Mazda dealer. The dealer would only sell the complete harness at $300.
I will try the Ford dealer tomorrow. Failing that, a trip to the junk yard is in order. There must be a few Lincolns there.
cheers

JagXster - the dealer should have that replacement two piece socket. Although, some will tell you that a whole harness is required. If not, you can source and make your own from any H1 bulb holder and an additional female spade connector. Lot's of discussion here on the forum. Might be a Tech or two here that can get you what you need.

JagXster, do a trip by Napa. From my experience with dealing with auto parts places, Napa seems to have a much larger electrical section than any other store I have found. They should be able to hook you up.

Worst case, look in the lighting section and see if you can find a cheap set of lights that use the H1 bulb. Then you can buy the light set, strip the plug out of the light and install it into your car. A cheap set of lights is like $20-30. Much cheaper than having to buy the hole harness.
