Default Lower Valence Removal- Possible?

Hey Guys, ever since I've installed my front lip I've had trouble with the front valence piece underneath the car. To be more specific, it is the plastic piece underneath the front bumper.

Can this be removed or is it there for an important reason?

Thanks!

I think you can remove it. It it basically a splash guard to prevent water/dirt/dust from working its way up.

jaggyx, like exexpat stated, this lower plastic cover is simply there to protect the underside of the engine from dust and water. There are a lot of cars that are driving around without them and apparently the xtypes came from the factory with a lot of underbody protection, yet most of this has been torn off by now. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. If you can get it to stay, your engine might stay cleaner, but who knows!
