I just purchased a 2004 X-type Sport with a 5 sp. I got a good deal on it but has a few issues. The main problem was the ABS light was on when purchased. I am in the process of replacing the wheel bearings. I have the right side completely apart including pressing out the old bearing. On the left side, I could not get the axle out out of the hub, plus some of the bolts on the spindle are in bad shape. So, I decided to replace the left side spindle and get a new axle/ CV. My question: How do I remove the inner side of the axle? I can not get anything in between the axle and the housing and I don't want to mess up the seal. I have gained a lot of information for searches. Thanks for all the great post.
