Default My X-Type has had zero problems, no unusual maintenance needs and no repairs needed

Optimized thread titile for Search Engine Optimization. I haven't had problems and I know there is an X-Type Appreciation thread, but I fear that won't be found by the Google search algorithym when indexed and queried.

My car is a 2004 3.0 Sport with Automatic Trans.

Post similar stories. Would be cool if neutral to positive threads outnumbered the "OMG my car is broken" threads .

No problems here either on my 03. People usually don't post when they're happy with their cars, just when they have problems.

Bought my '03 with 77K, no mechanical inspection and no major repairs on record. It's now at 110K in under 2 years still with no major repair or out of the ordinary maintenance. Has been as reliable as any other car I have had and seems to love whatever I give it. I love it.

2005 3.0 manual with 85K miles. Bought 2 1/2 years ago with 42K on her. No issues other than prop shaft which was covered while still under warranty. Runs smooth as silk. Very stable in snow with the DSC. Great car for what I paid. I really think if you do your homework and buy smartly these cars can be an absolute bargain. My brother has a 2007 Audi A4 and I wouldn't consider a trade straight up. Hell, he can't even get a single set of golf clubs in his trunk without lowering one of the rear seat backs.

I had my 02 X type for a year or so amd got her with low mileage.

Had a few of the very minor and known issues bot in all honesty it waas a great car to drive and I ALWAYS got loads of compliments on her.

Prewtty trouble free motoring for me really, but then I did my research and looked after her as I do all my vehicles!

No problems except what one would expect for maintenance on an 10 year old car. Love my Kitty...excuse me while I go knock wood.

exexpat, you don't have a history of jinxing things do you?

Nice thread exexpat. There should be more posts on how much people like their X or good experiences they have had.

No problems with my 2002 2.5 sport. As a matter of fact I've had a very good overall experience. The very few times I've had her to the dealer they did a great job with extraordinary customer service. The car is actually, in my opinion, pretty easy to work on which allows me to do 98% of the work myself. Im happy with my X overall.

Now I just have to save my pennies so I can get the XJ.

Thumbs up

Nice thread! Mine is a 2003 2.5 5-speed. Had the driveshaft and the driver's window regulator replaced under warranty. I have 70,000 mi. on it now, and just spent money on a repair for the first time. $15 for a PCV hose. I'm ok with that!

Mine is a 04 Sport, no issues and a pleasure to drive. Some ASSHAT installed a windshield wrong allowing moisture to access the TCM but after the windshield developed a giant crack and my insurance covered a replacement it is a perfect daily driver on low octane fuel.

Just traded in my 2004 X-Type 2.5 w/ manual trans. No major issues at all and the minor ones I had were taken care of by the dealer under the select warranty. Just usual maintenance, oil, brakes and tires.

Served me well!!!!

I've had my 2006 X-Type for 16 months with no problems. Just turned over 38,000 miles today. And I don't have to shovel my driveway when it snows.

I've had my x-type for over three years now, and the only problem I've had is a wheel bearing. I also got a new battery if that counts...

I’m on my second X-type (first one was 2002 2.5 auto - owned it for about 3 years only problem was thermostat had to be replaced). So far my 04 3.0 Sport with a Manual trans has been great. When I bought it there was a loud noise when starting the car. Had the dealer replace the starter, but besides that it is one of the best cars I have owned. No complaints here. Will post some pictures soon.

Bought my '07 18 months ago & have 53000 miles on it. Regular maintenance and no problems. Had the dealer replace a headlight under warranty. Just replaced tires.
