I have a 2005 Jaguar X-Type where recently the car would only drive in reverse unless the car cooled and then for a period of time I could drive it like normal.

Recently I took the car to a jaguar dealership in order to have them inspect and determine the issue, since the transmission is sealed they indicated everything was working correctly up to the transmission. The car has less than 35k miles on it and personally I do not believe it is the transmission since it does not make noise, slippage-gear issues, and is even drive able when the car is cold.

I would rather not pay $$$ to the dealership for their diagnostics especially if the transmission is not the problem.

Any ideas would be appreciated? Thank you

rhiggins, I would say based on what you are seeing to start with checking the tranny fluid level. If it gets a little low, it will cause what you are seeing. There are a few posts here on how to check the level and also how/where to add fluid and to what level. See what you have then.
